Scaffolding

Scaffolding provides a stable, elevated working platform for tasks that require safe access over a larger area than a ladder. It is used extensively in construction, exterior painting, plastering, roofing, maintenance and industrial work where workers need space to move, handle tools, and work for extended periods at height.

Bo’s Plant & Tool Hire supplies 1.5 m x 1.5 m H-Frame scaffolding, a widely used system known for its strength, stability and ease of assembly. H-frame scaffolding can be configured in multiple heights and lengths, making it suitable for both small projects and large ones.

Scaffolding Accessories

Scaffold Boards - Included

Scaffold boards form the main working surface of the scaffolding structure. They provide a solid, stable platform for workers to stand on, move along and handle tools safely. These boards distribute weight evenly and create a continuous walkway, reducing the risk of slips or instability during work at height.

Tie Bars - Included

Tie bars connect scaffold frames to keep the structure aligned and square. They help prevent movement between sections, ensuring that the scaffolding remains rigid and secure while in use. Properly installed tie bars improve overall stability and reduce stress on the rest of the system.

Cross Braces

Cross braces are essential for maintaining the structural integrity of a scaffolding setup. By connecting opposing points in a diagonal pattern, they prevent lateral movement and sway, especially in windy or uneven conditions. This makes the entire system more secure and reliable.

Base Jacks

Base jacks are adjustable supports that help level the scaffolding on uneven ground. By fine-tuning the height of individual legs, base jacks ensure the entire structure sits securely and evenly. They are especially useful on sloped or irregular surfaces where stability is a priority. (Available on request)

Castor Wheels

Castor wheels allow scaffolding towers to be moved safely across a work area without dismantling the structure. They are typically used for mobile scaffolding setups where workers need to reposition frequently, such as interior painting or maintenance tasks. Wheels lock securely in place when the scaffolding is in use. (Available on request)

Standards & Ledges

Standards and ledges are vertical and horizontal components used to build custom scaffolding layouts or extend existing structures. They allow scaffolding to be adapted to unusual building shapes, additional heights or specific site requirements, offering flexibility when standard frames are not sufficient. (Available on request)

Choosing the Right Scaffolding Setup

When selecting scaffolding, consider the height of the work area, the type of surface you’re building on, and whether the task requires frequent repositioning. H-frame scaffolding is ideal for long, vertical surfaces such as walls, buildings and structures where workers need continuous, secure access.

Accessories like boards, braces and base jacks help stabilise the structure and create a safe working platform, while components such as castor wheels can allow the scaffolding to be moved when needed.
